Damani Piggott, assistant professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases, has been named a Harold Amos Scholar by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Since its founding in 1983, the Harold Amos Program has promoted scholars who have assumed international research excellence in biomedical, clinical and health services research, maintained high levels of academic leadership and served as dedicated role models for future generations of medical researchers.
Through this four-year award, Damani will examine the impact of neighborhood environment on frailty and investigate biological precursor pathways to frailty so as to inform the development of effective strategies to reduce aging disparities and promote healthy aging outcomes in the HIV-infected population.
