Woreta Named Associate Program Director for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Osler Medical Residency

Dr. Tinsay Woreta, assistant professor in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, will be the next Associate Program Director for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for the Osler Medical Residency. Dr. Woreta has extensive experience in mentoring and advising in the DEI space, both at the residency and fellow level. In this role, Dr. Woreta will guide Osler Program DEI efforts, engage in direct mentorship and help build community. We thank Dr. Angela Orozco, the inaugural associate program director for DEI in the Osler Medical Residency, for her fantastic efforts developing and implementing the role.

Dr. Woreta is the fellowship program director for the gastroenterology and transplant hepatology fellowship programs in the Division of Gastroenterology. She completed her medical degree, internal medicine residency training and gastroenterology/hepatology fellowship training at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Her clinical practice is focused on acute and chronic liver diseases, including patients in need of liver transplantation.
