Welcome to Medicine Matters–the newly launched blog for the Department of Medicine. The goal of this blog is to create a place to, as the subtitle suggests, share the successes, challenges and day-to-day accomplishments that are happening across our department. It is an initial step to improve the department’s online presence and internal communications. Specifically, you will notice:
A reduction in the number of department-wide emails. We listened to the feedback that email volume is high and not always relevant to your job, so much of the content will now be posted on the blog.
- Instead, a weekly roundup email will help ensure you don’t miss important announcements and upcoming events.
- Department-wide emails will be used when leadership feels a message is important enough to warrant immediate notification, so please take the time to read these messages.
A newly redesigned Department of Medicine homepage will go live by the end of this month. It reflects a more contemporary style that matches other pages on the JHM site.
- Additional web content is being created especially in the areas of research and education.
- The second phase of the website redesign project will begin to address individual division pages and links to our laboratory sites.
If you have an idea for a blog post, please send it to [email protected]. We want to feature both campuses and all of our off-site locations and highlight the successes of all of our faculty as well as our DOM staff. Please let us know if you receive an award, publish a high impact paper, receive praise from a patient or family or have an upcoming event to publicize. Please also send photos and recaps from your events. We are all members of the same department and we would like to use this blog to collectively celebrate our victories.
Please visit frequently to stay up-to-date!
