The Herbert S. Waxman Award presented by the American College of Physicians (ACP) is a highly competitive award given to an outstanding medical student educator. April Fitzgerald, assistant professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine, was recognized for her work building the Maryland Chapter’s Internal Medicine Interest Group, our ACP Student Council, our Community Care Initiative and our Steps to Success Student Research Meeting in which students from Hopkins, the University of Maryland, Uniformed Services, Georgetown and George Washington have all participated.
This award is named in honor of the late Dr. Herbert S. Waxman, former ACP Senior Vice President for Medical Knowledge and Education.
