Randy Schekman, professor in the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology at the University of California, Berkeley, and winner of the 2013 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, will present “How Cells Export Proteins” on Friday, Sept. 11, from 2:30 to 4 p.m. in the East & West lecture halls of the Armstrong Building. Dr. Schekman shared the Nobel Prize with James Rothman of Yale University and Thomas Südhof of Stanford University for their discoveries of the mechanism regulating vesicle traffic, a major cellular transport system.
