Call for Applications – Associate Program Director for JHBMC Internal Medicine Residency Program

We are currently seeking an Associate Program Director focusing in primary care for the Johns Hopkins Bayview Internal Medicine Residency Program. Through its Primary Care Track, the residency program has become one of the nation's most highly regarded training programs in primary care internal medicine, recognized for numerous innovations in medical education.

The Associate Program Director (APD) for Primary Care will develop and implement novel teaching methods in primary care to best prepare residents for the rapidly evolving health care system. The APD will work closely with the Ambulatory Assistant Chief of Service and the Director of the Resident Continuity Clinic, serve as a liaison to JHCP, recruit medical students to primary care, encourage residency graduates to consider careers in primary care and ensure that educational themes related to primary care are consistently represented throughout the residency curriculum.

Candidates must hold current ABIM certification in internal medicine, have experience working in primary care and have an interest in producing scholarly work in graduate medical education. Prior teaching and/or administrative experience in graduate medical education is recommended. The APD will be appointed for a minimum of two years provided that performance expectations are met and must devote 50 percent of time to this effort.

The residency program has a strong commitment to diversity and we encourage women and individuals from groups underrepresented in medicine to apply.

To apply, please send your CV, a letter of support from your division director, and a 1-2 page letter of interest to Dr. Erica Johnson (ejohn144@jhmi.edu) by January 5, 2016.
