tideswellJessica Colburn, assistant professor in the Division of Geriatric Medicine, was named a Tideswell Leadership Scholar by the American Geriatrics Society (AGS). The AGS partnered with Tideswell at UCSF and the Association of Geriatric Academic Programs (ADGAP) on a National Leadership Development Program, a yearlong leadership development program for emerging leaders in the field of aging. Supported by the Stephen D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation, the program will focus on augmenting and leveraging existing leadership skills relevant to clinical, research and education. This platform aims to lead tidal change in aging by encouraging emerging leaders to provide vision, meaning, direction and focus to organizations and fellow health professionals.

Jessica is one of five scholars from universities across the country who recently gathered in San Francisco for an interactive workshop and series of mentoring sessions.
