April Holmes, medication technician for Hopkins ElderPlus, received a Martin Luther King Jr. Community Service Award at Hopkins’ 34th Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration on Friday, January 8. April was honored due to her work with both the Bea Gaddy Family Center and the O’Donnell Heights Tenants Council as well as for her commitment to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore’s O’Donnell Heights branch where she volunteers three days a week and leads an annual school supplies fundraiser, distributing backpacks and supplies to students.
