Celebrate National Women Physician Day!

Today, Wednesday, Feb. 3, marks the first-ever National Women Physician Day in honor of Elizabeth Blackwell's 195th birthday. Blackwell was the first woman to receive a medical degree in America, opening the door for women to pursue a career that had not previously been available to them. It is clear today that the tides have changed with over 8,500 women graduating from medical school in the U.S. in 2014 alone and 46 percent of medical residents being women in the same year. Join us in honoring Blackwell's legacy for igniting this change by celebrating the first annual National Women Physician Day in her honor.
