The Maryland Chapter of the American College of Physicians (ACP) recently named several DOM faculty members ACP fellows. Fellowship is an honor achieved by those recognized by their peers for personal integrity, superior competence in internal medicine, professional accomplishment, and demonstrated scholarship. In addition to the induction of the above faculty members, the Osler Medical Training Program was well represented at the ACP meeting held on Thursday, May 26 with five of the nine finalists of the poster competition coming from their group, as well as:
- Yuri Hanada being named poster winner
- Willard Applefeld (who will represent the state in the national ACP meeting in 2017) being named Oral Clinical Vignette winner
Finally, Sanjay Desai was named the 2016 winner of the C. Lockard Conley Award, in honor of an extraordinary clinician/educator and former Hopkins professor of Hematology who represented the highest ideals in educating and mentoring trainees while delivering outstanding clinical care. Sanjay was nominated for this award by several people on the basis of his extraordinary accomplishments as director of the Osler Program.
