Ashby Named Assistant Administrator

Anthony Ashby, MBA, was named the assistant administrator for Inpatient Operations and Excellence earlier this month. Anthony joins Hopkins from Sentara Health where he was the associate director of operating room finance and operations. In his new role, he will work closely with the vice chairs and nursing leadership to support faculty and staff in the mission to provide effective, efficient and patient-centered care in the department’s inpatient areas.

Born in Baltimore, Anthony attended high school in Northern Virginia, but returned to Baltimore to obtain a bachelor’s in accounting and an MBA in healthcare administration from the University of Baltimore. Later, he spent several years as a regional project manager consulting for various hospitals and health systems across the country, namely within supply chain, but also in aspects of operations, accounting/finance, surgery and others. Anthony looks forward to learning and growing within the organization and becoming a strong contributor to improving hospital operations and patient outcomes.
