Kovell Receives AOA Postgraduate Award

Lara Kovell, fellow in the Division of Cardiology, was recently awarded the 2016 Postgraduate Award from Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society. This award comes with a $2,000 honorarium and allows residents and fellow to pursue projects in the spirit of the AOA mission statement. Lara will study the effect of intentional weight loss on subclinical myocardial injury with the help of mentor Steven Schulman, professor in the Division of Cardiology.
