Cooper Named Bloomberg Distinguished Professor

Lisa Cooper, professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine, was named the 25th Bloomberg Distinguished Professor. With this appointment, she plans to establish an Institute for Equity in Health and Healthcare at Johns Hopkins, which would unify already-existing JHU centers performing research and education involving health disparities in order to create policy changes and community health benefits.

The Bloomberg Distinguished Professorships are sponsored by a $350 million gift from alumnus Michael R. Bloomberg. Lisa is the 25th of 50 multidisciplinary faculty members who will be honored in the coming years.
