We are excited to announce the first event of the DOM Civic Engagement Community Outreach Committee. Many of us take for granted that we have the proper clothing and business attire to wear to work. Imagine, however, if you were recently homeless or unemployed—it is highly likely that you no longer have those resources, making re-entry into the job market difficult. Having a free, donated business suit or dress for the job interview that you were finally able to land would not only suit you up for success, but boost your confidence! That is why our department’s initial community service event will be a Professional Clothing Drive to support Maryland New Directions, an organization that provides gently used professional clothing for low-income, job seeking individuals in Baltimore. Please drop off your gently used business attire and accessories at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center (MFL Center Tower 310 or JHAAC 2B.43) for JHH (1830 Building, Room 9025 or Nelson 5). We thank you in advance for helping make some of our community members’ dreams come true!
