On Monday, March 27, the five-year-old Endoscopy family lounge reopened after having been under renovations since January 7. The newly renovated space, located on the main floor of the Sheikh Zayed tower, features a highly contemporary look, custom furniture, fish tanks, technology device charging ports, patient tracking monitors and a multilingual Johns Hopkins registration mural. The newly-designed family lounge aims to enhance patient flow from the entrance to the comfortable lounge area towards the back of the waiting room. The registration process incorporates the latest technology in the patient check-in kiosks and a more personal experience with a patient service coordinator. In our first week in the new space, patients have mentioned they love the new furniture and that they can easily identify where they need to go as they move through the registration/check-in process. Staff have mentioned that the space feels calmer.
