This month, Hopkins SOM faculty joined the American Diabetes Association on Capitol Hill for meetings with congressional representatives and senators about diabetes research funding and health care priorities. Participants were Felicia Hill-Briggs, professor of in GIM and president-elect of the American Diabetes Association Health Care & Education; Mehboob Hussain, professor of Pediatrics and director of the JHU-UMD Diabetes Research Center and Nisa Maruthur, assistant professor in GIM and director of community partnership for the Brancati Center for the Advancement of Community Care.
