Several members of the DOM will participate in the inaugural National Research Conference of the High Value Practice Academic Alliance on October 8-9 where faculty and housestaff from Hopkins will present 25 abstracts, more than any other institution.
Two abstracts involving members of the DOM (in bold) won awards:
- Amit Pahwa, Calvin Kagan, Leonard Feldman, Tim Niessen, Keisha Perrin, Ariella Apfel and Natalie Spicyn won first place in the category of Diagnostic Testing for their abstract The Illusion of Safety: An Effective Approach To Resident Over-Utilization of Telemetry
- Helen Xun, Lochan Shah, Francoise Marvel and Seth Martin received an honorable mention in the category of Provider Behavioral Modification & Informatics for their abstract Smart Medicine - Implementing a Mobile Application and Wearable Technology to Improve Hospital Discharge Patient Safety and Quality: Preliminary 30-Day Readmission and Cost-Effective Findings from the MiCORE Study.
