DOM Research Retreat Will Take Place on March 16

The 2018 DOM Research Retreat will be held as a joint retreat with the Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering. This full-day event will take place on Friday, March 16, 2018 on the medical school campus and will include awards for the best posters, the Levine and Brancati Mentoring Awards and basic and clinical research presentations by senior Hopkins faculty. Art projects from the Department of Arts as Applied to Medicine will be spotlighted in the retreat exhibit area.

This year’s retreat, entitled “Re-Engineering Medical Discovery” will feature keynote speaker, Dr. Robert Langer, the David H. Koch Institute Professor at MIT. Dr. Langer is not only the author of over 1,400 articles but he is also the most cited engineer in history (h-index 239). He has in excess of 1,260 issued and pending patents worldwide which have been licensed or sublicensed to over 300 pharmaceutical, chemical, biotechnology and medical device companies.

The Research Retreat website is now open for retreat registration, poster abstract submission and Levine and Brancati Mentoring Award nomination submissions. We look forward to your participation in what promises to be a very exciting event.
