Hassoun Elected President of the Pulmonary Vascular Institute

Paul Hassoun, professor in the Division of Pulmonary and director of the Hopkins Pulmonary Hypertension (PH) Program, was recently elected President of the Pulmonary Vascular Institute (PVRI) for 2018-2019. The PVRI is an international medical society and the only global charity fighting PH and pulmonary vascular diseases (PVD) around the world. It comprises a network of over 6,000 professionals from 75 different countries. The mission of the PVRI is to reduce the global burden of PVD within the next two decades through global collaboration, striving for excellent in clinical care, research and education in PVD. Through the work of its nine Regional Task Forces, it supports many national meetings on PH to enhance collaboration and better understanding of the disease.
