The 9th Annual Cardiovascular Research Retreat will take place on Friday, April 20 in the Owen Auditorium of the Cancer Research Building. The event starts at 8 a.m. The poster presentations start at 1 p.m.

  • Speakers include:
  • William Pu – Harvard University/Boston Children’s on cardiac development/regeneration
  • Svati Shah – Duke University on molecular epidemiology of metabolic disease
  • Marc Halushka – JHMI Pathology on myocardial protein mosaics
  • Suchi Saria – JHU Applied Mathematics on machine learning takes cardiovascular big data

The deadline to submit abstracts for the meeting is midnight, Friday April 6th. Only one submission per person is permitted. This gives us one week to grade and identify the oral presentations, giving them one week to prepare their presentation. Everyone else is automatically entered in the poster session and competitions. Oral and poster abstracts are further graded at the event, and the Stanley Blumenthal Prizes are awarded at the end of the retreat. Poster boards will be 4’x6’ each.
