Shaker Eid, associate professor and director of research in the Division of Hospital Medicine, has been appointed chair of the Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM) Research Committee. The SHM Research Committee is charged with developing, promoting and recommending avenues of research in hospital medicine as well as looking for opportunities to encourage SHM members to participate in research activities. The committee recently received a funding grant from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) for their work on Improving Hospital Outcomes through Patient Engagement – The i-HOPE Study.
