As the holiday season nears, the local food banks that serve needy families in our communities are more in need of support as there is more of a demand for food. This year, the Department of Medicine Civic Engagement Committee is partnering with a local food bank, the Compassion Center, to assist with providing non-perishable items. The center primarily caters to the homeless, so the items needed are canned sources of protein and items that can be easily opened and ready to eat.
Collection boxes will be available through Thursday, November 15 at the following locations:
- Downtown: 1830 Building, 9th Floor Lobby
- Bayview: MFL Center Tower Lobby
- Bayview: Medical Education Center (MEC) in the FSK Pavilion
As you grab groceries for the next few weeks, please add a few items to your cart for this worthy organization. If you would like more information about the Compassion Center, Haven City Church and their work in the community, visit: https://www.baltimorechurch.com/the-compassion-center/
