Our inaugural Department of Medicine Education Retreat on Tuesday, October 30 was a big success. Keynote speaker Kimberly Manning delivered an engaging and educational talk filled with great tips on how to engage our learners more effectively. After the keynote, attendees participated in workshops on how to improve story telling and bite-sized teaching. The day ended with six presentations as part of our first-ever teaching competition featuring trainees. They were a clear sign that our fellows, residents and postdocs are already very capable educators. Justin Berk, resident in the MedPeds program, was awarded first prize.
