Venkat Gundareddy, assistant professor in the Division of Hospital Medicine and Rona Stewart-Corral, patient care manager on the Carol Ball Medicine Unit, were awarded the Society of Hospital Medicine Maryland Chapter’s annual Physician of the Year and Affiliate of the Year awards on October 11. These awards are bestowed to individuals who display exemplary dedication and innovation in providing the best care for hospitalist patients and the community. They received the awards in recognition of their efforts on the EQUIP program, an initiative that works to improve quality of care in domains such as patient experience, length of stay and readmissions.
