Miller Coulson Academy Awards

The Miller Coulson Academy of Clinical Excellence selected Nikki Chokshi, physician assistant in the Division of Cardiology, Monica Riegert, nurse practitioner in the Division of Gastroenterology, and Virginia Wendel, nurse practitioner in the Division of Geriatrics to receive the 5th Annual Miller Coulson Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Clinical Excellence Award. This honor is awarded to the NP/PAs who exemplifies communication & interpersonal skills, professionalism and humanism, diagnostic acumen, skillful negotiation of the healthcare system, knowledge, scholarly approach to clinical practice, and exhibiting a passion for patient care. They were honored at the Excellence in Patient Care Symposium earlier this month.

Top Nurses

The following nurses in the Department of Medicine were named "top nurses" by Baltimore magazine and will be presented with the publication's 2019 Excellence in Nursing award.

  • Linda Fair, nurse clinician, The Johns Hopkins Hospital
  • Tammy Jones, clinical nurse, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center

Patient Safety Videos

To raise awareness of patient safety and quality across Johns Hopkins Medicine and give health care providers an outlet to express their creativity, the Patient Safety Summit Planning Committee hosted the sixth annual Johns Hopkins Medicine Patient Safety Video Contest at the Patient Safety Summit. The theme for the 2019 contest focused on “Commitment to Resilience.”
