Members of the DOM Honored by the IEE

Members of the DOM received five of the eight Outstanding Educator Awards distributed at the Annual Institute for Excellence in Education (IEE) Conference and Celebration held on Friday, April 12.

Lifetime Achievement in Education Award

John Burton, professor in the Division of Geriatrics, received the Martin D. Abeloff Award for Lifetime Achievement in Medical and Biomedical Education. This award is the highest of the IEE's honors, named after a visionary leader, superb physician and educator, and world class scholar.

Teaching

Susrutha Kotwal, assistant professor in the Division of Hospital Medicine, received the Teaching Award for Faculty of Less Than 10 Years.

Janet Record, assistant professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine, received the Teaching Award for Faculty of 10 or More Years.

Leadership and Mentoring

Rachel Levine, associate professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine, received the Education Award in Leadership and Mentoring recognizing her outstanding track record of personal mentorship and building of mentoring programs.

Educational Innovation

Kim Skarupski, associate professor in the Division of Geriatrics and associate dean for faculty development, received the Award for Educational Innovation.
