Page Urges UN Security Council to Declare Venezuela Humanitarian Crisis

Last month, Kathleen Page, associate professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases, gave testimony at the United Nations Security Council regarding the dire healthcare crisis in Venezuela that has lead to shortages in medications, supplies and services which threaten public health. In her remarks, she made recommendations based on findings published in her recent Lancet article. She urged the UN to declare a humanitarian crisis formally and address it.
