7 DOM Specialties Ranked by U.S. News & World Report

The U.S. News & World Report 2019-20 Best Hospitals list once again showcased an impressive number of Department of Medicine specialties. While unsurprising, the results are an effect of the unparalleled contributions put forth by the individuals in our department on a daily basis. We would like to take this opportunity to give thanks to the division chiefs, faculty, fellows, residents, nurses and staff for contributing so exceptionally to discovery, education and the care of our patients. These medical specialty rankings remind the world of what our teamwork is capable of accomplishing. We are both proud and grateful to each of you for striving to make our department excel not only in these specialties but across all of our divisions.

The Johns Hopkins Hospital was also once again ranked #3 in the nation. Congratulations also to Sibley Memorial Hospital, which achieved a #8 ranking for the Washington, D.C., region, and Suburban Hospital, whose ranking is #10 in Maryland and #10 in the Washington, D.C., region. All our hospitals that provide adult care, including Howard County General Hospital and Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, were designated as “high performing” in at least one of their specialties.
