The Association of Medical Illustrators recently recognized a collaborative project involving members of the Johns Hopkins Lyme Disease Research Center. The Lyme Disease Animation: Infection, Immune System Evasion & Progression received an award of excellence for meeting the highest standards of the profession. The award is typically awarded to only three percent of about 400 annual entries.
The animation was supported through the generosity of Carol Brown Goldberg and Henry H. Goldberg. It was collaboratively created by medical animator, Lydia Gregg, associate professor in the Departments of Radiology and Art as Applied to Medicine, and script authors including Ms. Gregg, John Aucott, associate professor in the Division of Rheumatology, Mark Soloski, professor in the Division of Rheumatology, and Mary Blue, associate professor of Neurology.
