Kirk to Step Down as Vice Chair

Greg Kirk, professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases, will step down from his role as vice chair for clinical and translation research to become the vice dean for research and faculty of the Bloomberg School of Public Health effective January 1, 2020.

Greg assumed the vice chair position in March of 2015, and along with Brian O'Rourke, vice chair for basic and translational research, has championed many beneficial research initiatives including, but not limited to, the reorganization of grants management, the development of an intranet-based grant peer review portal, the development of a bridge fund policy and the newly-announced Large Project Initiative. Over the past four years, he has worked to lessen the barriers for faculty conducting research, and his contributions will be missed.

Please help us congratulate Greg on his new role, and applaud the School of Public Health for their impeccable taste. The search for the next vice chair will be forthcoming.
