David Thomas, professor and director of the Division of Infectious Diseases, has been selected by the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) Awards Committee to receive the 2019 Walter E. Stamm Mentor Award. Named to honor the late past-president Walter E. Stamm, MD, FIDSA, this award was created to recognize individuals who have served as exemplary mentors and is presented to an IDSA member or fellow who has been exceptional in guiding professional growth of infectious disease professionals. Dr. Thomas will receive this award at this year’s ID Week, which will be held in Washington, D.C. from October 2-6, 2019.
