Drs. Derek Fine and John Sperati, associate professors in the Division of Nephrology, were honored by the American Society of Nephrology (ASN) with 2020 Midcareer Awards.
Dr. Derek Fine received the ASN Distinguished Clinical Service Award. This award recognizes individuals who combine the art of medicine with the skills demanded by the scientific body of knowledge in service to patients, exemplifies leadership and excellence in the practice of nephrology and have been involved in volunteer programs post-training.
Dr. John Sperati received the ASN Distinguished Educator Award, which honors those who have made substantial contributions to clinical or research education in nephrology, to the education and training of trainees and junior faculty and who have acquire special knowledge to stay informed of the latest advances in clinical care and research.
