Dr. Wendy Bennett, associate professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine, and Dr. Jay Vaidya, associate professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine, received a multi-PI R01 entitled “The Effect of Sex Hormones on Cardiometabolic Outcomes in Men and Women with Diabetes: The Look AHEAD (Action for Health in Diabetes) Study.” Collaborators in the Department of Medicine include Drs. Jeanne Clark (GIM), Rita Kalyani (Endocrinology) and Erin Michos (Cardiology). The study will examine the effect of an intensive lifestyle intervention on sex hormones; and the association between sex hormones and cardiometabolic risk factors and outcomes over time among people with diabetes.
