Roth Receives Lawton Award

Dr. David Roth, professor in the Division of Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology, will receive the M. Powell Lawton Award at the Annual Scientific Meeting of the Gerontological Society of America in November. This prestigious award is given for distinguished contributions in applied gerontological research.

Dr. Roth bridges methodological rigor with expertise in content and theory in highly interdisciplinary applied interventional research. Dr. Roth was recognized for being an incredibly productive scholar, academic leader and effective mentor who has had a major impact on the field of applied gerontology through his work on diverse topics including the physical health effects of family caregiving, racial/ethnic differences in caregiving, caregiver intervention research, intervention studies on nutrition, driving and mobility.
