Cervantes Receives Hispanic Heritage Award

Ana Cervantes, senior administrative coordinator for the Johns Hopkins Center for Clinical Global Health Education, received the 2021 Hispanic Heritage Award from Baltimore City Mayor Brandon Scott. She was recognized for her work with Dr. Kathleen Page, professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases, on COVID testing and vaccination services for Baltimore’s large Latino community.

Under Dr. Page, Ana sprang into action early on in the pandemic—she set up and staffed a testing and vaccination site, conducted contact tracing, provided accurate and timely information and served as a critical link to community members. She’s a dynamo, and so incredibly deserving of this award.
