Arbaje Elected Chair of Council of Subspecialty Societies

Dr. Alicia Arbaje, associate professor in the Division of Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology, has been elected chair of the Council of Subspecialty Societies of the American College of Physicians. The charge of the council is “to act as a forum for the exchange of ideas between the college and subspecialty societies on matters affecting medicine in general and subspecialty societies in particular.” The Council of Subspecialty Societies consists of members of over 20 societies representing the subspecialties of internal medicine. In her role as chair, Dr. Arbaje will become a member of ACP’s Board of Regents and will address matters affecting the fields of internal medicine and related subspecialties, particularly on the issues of care transitions, care coordination, effective public health messaging, trustworthy patient-centered care and physician well-being.
