Ensor Named Administrative Resident

The Department of Medicine welcomes Brad Ensor as the Administrative Resident for 2022-2023. Brad hails from Bel Air, MD and earned his bachelor's degree in Healthcare Management from Towson University in 2019.

In high school, Brad volunteered in Upper Chesapeake Medical Center’s Emergency Department where he signed in visitors and addressed patient/family concerns. At this same time, he was transitioning into a leadership role in his Boy Scout troop. He blended volunteering in a hospital and the leadership aspect of Boy Scouts to pursue a career in healthcare management.

A summer internship at Kennedy Krieger Institute reorganizing medical supplies for weekend nurses solidified his passion for improving healthcare delivery. These experiences led him to major in healthcare management at Towson University. As a student, Brad interned in four of GBMC’s specialty care practices managing metrics for their lean daily management program. After the internship, he was eager to further apply lean strategies to the healthcare delivery system.

After graduating in 2019, he worked for two years as a Data Analyst in Mercy Medical Center’s finance department. His responsibilities included tracking COVID costs, completing the hospital’s Annual Filing, preparing the Community Benefits Report and collecting data for various departments. With his Master's in Health Administration from Johns Hopkins University, he is interested in applying Lean Six Sigma concepts to data analysis, performance/ process improvement and value-based payment.
