Updates from the Faculty Senate

The DOM has two new representatives on the JHU School of Medicine Faculty Senate. Dr. David Hager is an associate professor in the Division of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine and director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit. Dr. Gigi Liu is an assistant professor in the Division of Hospital Medicine at JHH and director of Point of Care Ultrasound Education for the Osler Medical Residency.

They will join Dr. Wendy Bennett, associate professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine, who is in her second term. Dr. Bennett was also recently elected Faculty Senate Secretary.

We'd like to thank Dr. Rebecca Dezube, assistant professor in the Division of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine, and Dr. Lucia Ponor, assistant professor in the Division of Hospital Medicine at JHBMC, for their service as DOM Senators.

When the Faculty Senate reconvenes in September after a break this summer, they will focus on major issues including the following topics:

  • Concur system for reimbursements
  • Newly proposed systems for tracking faculty time
  • JHU Police Force
  • Family and Parental Leave
  • Benefits for Post-Docs

Please feel free to connect with the DOM Senators if you would like to discuss these or other relevant topics.
