Dr. William Bishai, professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases, recently received a MERIT award from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. MERIT awards are granted for an initial five-year term, given to outstanding investigators based on superior competence and productivity. Nominees are selected from ROI applicants in the fund able range throughout the fiscal year; awards are voted on by the National Advisory Allergy and Infectious Diseases Council.
Dr. Bishai and co-principal investigator Dr. Sabra Klein, professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases, received the award in support of their work entitled, "Genetic and hormonal mechanisms mediating sex differences in TB and TBHJV."
