Dr. Justin Echouffo Tcheugui, associate professor in the Division of Endocrinology, was named one of three winners of the 2023 NIH Office of Disease Prevention Early Stage Investigator Lecture. This award recognizes early-career prevention scientists who, by the submission deadline, had not competed successfully for a substantial NIH-supported research project, but who had already made substantial research contributions to their respective field and who are poised to become a leader in prevention research. Dr. Echouffo Tcheugui was recognized for his work spanning the primary prevention of type 2 diabetes and secondary prevention of diabetes-related complications.
