Inpatient & Ambulatory:

Update to Tap-n-Go on Public and Private Computers [Effective April 20, 2023]

  • New Tap-Out or Windows key + L shortcut workflow:
    • All open work is saved and open patient charts/activities will close.
    • “Tap-In” will bring you to your starting workspace in Epic.
    • This affects all public and private workstations, except in Ambulatory clinic exam rooms.

Inpatient:

Change to Discharge Medication Reconciliation

  • To avoid confusion and improve patients’ understanding when meds are marked as “Not Taking” on discharge instructions:
    • The “Defer to Prescriber” section will no longer appear
    • Medications not taken prior to hospitalization, should not be continued, and will be ‘Discontinued’.
      • If the patient should discuss the medication with the original prescriber, it is noted on the AVS.
    • Review the updated workflow here.
