JHH Advanced Practice Advisory Council Awards

Holly Bashura, CRNP, nurse practitioner manager in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism received the April Advanced Practice Provider Appreciation Award. This award recognizes clinical excellence and the embodiment of The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Holly has been an exceptional leader within the Department of Medicine despite facing many changes and challenges. She inspires others to achieve excellence and reach their full potential.

Shannon Carroll, CRNP, MSN, nurse practitioner in the Division of Hematology, received the May Advanced Practice Provider Appreciation Award from the JHH Advanced Practice Advisory Council. Shannon is an integral team member for the Adult Sickle Cell Program. She advocates for her patients and develops trusting relationships with her patients that improve health outcomes. Shannon has also worked with other providers and nurses to expand education regarding sickle cell disease across the institution.

Michael Velaetis, PA-C, MPAS, senior physician assistant in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, received the inaugural Opportunity Award for his project, "Creation of a structured curriculum and training program  for the Medical ICU Advanced Practice Providers in Point of Care Ultrasound."
