DOM Administrators Present at MGMA Leaders Conference

Shannon Bishop, academic administrator of the DOM, Christian Hartman, division administrator for the Division of Gastroenterology, Jamison Kies, administrative manager for the Division of General Internal Medicine, and Jonathan Leer, division administrator for the Division of Geriatric Medicine & Gerontology, presented at the National Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) Leaders Conference in Nashville in October. The group presented “What Physicians Don’t Get Taught in Medical School: Turning Clinicians into Better Business Partners” at the Nashville Music City Center. Shannon and Jonathan also presented “Hope vs. Hype: A New Roadmap for Evolving Practice Models” at the conference. Their abstracts were selected out of thousands of entries to present in front over 1,500 members attending from all 50 states and some U.S. Territories.

Also during the conference, Jonathan Leer was chosen as a fellow of the American College of Medical Practice Executives of the MGMA. It is the terminal certification of the MGMA, and only one percent of the entire membership is chosen for this achievement.
