Short Description of the Presentation:

Teaching physicians play a critical role in ensuring that medical students, residents and fellows’ involvement in services are properly documented, coded and billed. This presentation will provide an overview on the Teaching Physician rules and guidelines for inpatient and ambulatory services.

Departmental representatives please share this information with appropriate staff.

Speaker Bio:

Dr. Maura McGuire, MD, CPC: Dr. Maura J. McGuire is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Executive Director of Education for the Office of Johns Hopkins Physicians (OJHP) and Johns Hopkins Community Physicians (JHCP).

Tammy Morris, BSHA, CPC, CHC, RAC-CT: Tammy Morris is the Office of Compliance: Professional Fee Services Director.  She has over 20 years of experience in health care including coding, billing, privacy and compliance.  She has worked in various roles with many different specialties throughout the health care industry. Prior to joining Johns Hopkins, she traveled as a consultant to provide expert guidance to local and out of state organizations.  She is a certified coder and a certified healthcare compliance professional.
