Five Selected for Distinguished Teaching Society

Five members of the Department of Medicine were inducted into the Distinguished Teaching Society of Johns Hopkins on Monday, May 13. The JHUSOM Distinguished Teaching Society (DTS) is a student-organized honor society for outstanding clinical educators. The society utilizes a rigorous, evidence-based, student-created rubric for judging student-submitted nominations for induction into the society.

After a rigorous judging process, the selection committee determined that the outstanding nomination letters, as well as comments from our student body and educational leadership, indicated that these individuals met the highest standards in clinical teaching excellence.

The 2024 DTS Inductees from the DOM are:

Dr. Jane Abernethy, assistant professor in the Division of GIM at JHBMC

Dr. Jay Clyne, instructor in the Division of GIM at JHH

Dr. Raena Hariharan, instructor in the Division of GIM at JHBMC

Dr. Manny Monroy-Trujillo, assistant professor in the Division of Nephrology

Dr. Jeffrey Schneider, resident in the Bayview Internal Medicine Residency Program
