Reporting Sexual Misconduct

Johns Hopkins University is committed to promoting a safe and supportive environment for our community. If you have experienced sexual misconduct or discrimination or harassment based on protected class we encourage you to reach out to the Office of Institutional Equity (OIE) for support. OIE is available to assist you if you would like to file a report with JHU, obtain supportive measures or be connected to confidential and/or other community resources.

To report sexual misconduct, discrimination or harassment you may contact the OIE by:

OIE assesses sexual misconduct, discrimination and harassment complaints concerning students, staff and faculty, and is committed to handling reports of sexual misconduct with discretion and sensitivity.

University employees designated as "responsible employees," such as all non-confidential supervisory employees, have an obligation to report information about possible sexual misconduct, discrimination and harassment to OIE. They must promptly report all known relevant information, including but not limited to:

  • The name of the complainant, respondent, and any witnesses;
  • The date, time, and location of the misconduct; and
  • Any other pertinent facts. OIE will then determine next steps.

Please contact OIE with any questions or concerns.
