We are pleased to announce that Kate Walls will be joining the Department of Medicine as the division administrator for the Division of General Internal Medicine and the Division of Addiction Medicine.
Kate has almost twenty years of experience working in academic medicine at Johns Hopkins University. She most recently served as the administrator for the Department of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery where she oversaw a department of 100 faculty who see patients at eight outpatient clinics and perform surgeries at four hospitals and two ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) in Baltimore and the National Capital Region. Prior to this role, she served as the administrator for the Divisions of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Pharmacology where she provided administrative oversight for the divisions’ faculty and staff who performed clinical, research and educational activities related to HIV, tuberculosis, STDs, transplant oncology infections, viral hepatitis and other infectious disease conditions. She started her career as a financial analyst in the Division of Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology and also held a leadership role in the Division of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.
Kate earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Mary Washington and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Baltimore. She is a participant in the 2024 JHM Executive Leadership Development Program.
