Corrigan Receives MLK Community Service Award

Sophia Corrigan, physician assistant in the Division of General Internal Medicine, was selected to receive a 2024 Martin Luther King Jr. Community Service Award in recognition of her volunteerism. She will be honored at the 43rd Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration, a celebration of Dr. King's enduring impact and those who continue to uphold his vision. The event will take place on Friday, Jan. 17, from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Chevy Chase Auditorium on the East Baltimore campus.

The event will feature remarks by Theodore L. DeWeese, dean of the medical faculty and CEO of Johns Hopkins Medicine, and Kevin W. Sowers, president of the Johns Hopkins Health System and executive vice president of Johns Hopkins Medicine. The keynote speaker will be David Thomas, president of Morehouse College and noted academic and expert in organizational management and higher education leadership. He will speak to the event’s theme, The Dynamic Power of Hope, in the spirit of Dr. King’s unwavering optimism for a more just world.
