Kristy Davidson has been named division administrator of the Division of Nephrology effective Jan. 13, 2025. While new to the Department of Medicine, she comes to us from the Wilmer Eye Institute where she has a proven track record of successfully managing multiple locations in the Baltimore North region.
Born and raised in Maryland, she is an adaptable administrator accustomed to the integration of healthcare delivery systems, spending the last fourteen years serving the community and working to improve outcomes. Her introduction to academic medicine in 2016 has inspired her to grow into the leader she is today. After one year of managing Wilmer Bayview, she was promoted to assistant administrator for the Wilmer Eye Institute and served in that role for over seven years. During that time, Kristy successfully designed and expanded a satellite location, had the honor of presenting at an international conference several years in a row and played a pivotal role in keeping faculty and staff protected during COVID by learning how to fit N-95 masks traveling to all locations to ensure everyone was tested.
Kristy graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in business administration- healthcare management, followed by a Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Maryland University College. Her intellectual curiosity led her to seek executive education opportunities taking full advantage of all Johns Hopkins has to offer. Kristy earned an Executive Certificate in Healthcare Leadership and Management from the Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School as well as a certificate in Leading Transformation for Value-based Healthcare with the Bloomberg School of Public Health. Additionally, she has served on many committees to include SOM Staff Diversity Council and the Practice Management Committee.
In her new role, Kristy will be responsible for ensuring the Division of Nephrology meets or exceeds strategic goals both on a divisional and departmental level while managing finances and operations. Please join us in welcoming Kristy Davidson as our new division administrator.
