Dr. Julie Paik, associate professor in the Division of Rheumatology, and Dr. Pavan Bhargava, associate professor in the Department of Neurology were awarded a 6 million dollar grant from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases entitled, “Johns Hopkins Autoimmunity Center of Excellence” where they will serve as co-directors of the newly funded Hopkins Autoimmunity Centers of Excellence (ACE) and join the broader ACE network. This grant will fund a proposed Phase 2 clinical trial in myositis and other collaborative, mechanistic studies to understand the underpinnings of autoimmunity.
